Catfish facts

Catfish are arguably the most recognizable fish in the world. There are over 3000 species, and they can be found on every continent except Antartica. Found in freshwater or saltwater, catfish are easily identified by the cat-like whiskers which give them their name. Due to their extensive range, their popularity as a food source, and the gargantuan sizes to which some species can grow…catfish are one of the most highly targeted freshwater species.
